Lakshya Bhargava (b. 2000, Ghaziabad, India) is an artist based in London. Working primarily with painting and drawing, his practice explores care, love, intimacy, and the everyday. Drawing from personal experiences and encounters with friends and chosen family, his work reflects on how intimacy, memory, and ordinary moments shape ideas of home and belonging. He completed his Bachelor’s in Visual Arts at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru (2022), and is pursuing a Master’s in Fine Arts at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL. Bhargava was selected for New Contemporaries 2025 and received the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant (2024) and Tata Trust Award (2022).

"When I first moved to the UK, this room was the only space I could truly call my own — empty at first, but slowly filled with memories, objects, and shared moments. As my friend and I grew closer, our spaces began to overlap through small routines and shared memories, the room became a home, and painting my own room for the first time became a way to hold these fragile moments of belonging — to reflect on what it means to build and share a home with oneself and another. It’s a tender record of Belonging, Love and Care."
