Xinyi Yang - Mist
Regular price £100.00 Save £-100.00Xinyi Yang is a Chinese visual artist based in Scotland. Working across oil and printing, she transforms Chinese aesthetics and personal fragments into ambiguous images that navigate between Eastern and Western traditions. Her practice investigates cultural dissonance and the fluidity of identity, using metaphor and poetic tension to question the logic of her own existence within this intersection and to provoke reflection on the roots and consequences of such divergence.
"In Mist, facial features emerge through restrained strokes, only to dissolve within erasure. The boundaries between figure and environment blur, exposing the instability of presence and opening onto more fundamental questions: if all returns to dust, what meaning lies in struggle, and where does identity ultimately lead?"
